Instructions:
Combine the flour with the Baking Powder, Salt and Curry and mix shortly
Add the butter and combine to breadcrumbs texture
Add the cold water slowly
Until dough is not sticking to your hands
Wrap it in cling film and leave it in the fridge for 30min. or overnight
In the meantime fry the onion and add the mixed beef and spices to a dry consistency, no juices should be left.
Take the pastry and break a piece (Plum size)
Roll out on floured surface
Lift from surface and place on cutter (easy way, have a look on ebay for pastry cutters, got my plastic ones for Β£3.00)
Add a tablespoon of mixture in the centre and fold pastry cutter carefully.
Press down on the edges to ensure it is all sealed
Or just do it without the cutter and press with fork to seal the edges
Mix the egg with a fork and use as egg wash with brush before baking the pastries
Electrical oven: 200 CΒ° for 20 minutes
Chef's Tips
I usually triple the quantity to get around 90 out. I also got myself a pattie cutter, avoids the messing around with the fork and they are all coming out identically.
