Finely chop onion. Heat oil in frying pan and gently saute onion and minced beef. While beef is cooking, peel potatoes, chop into 2.5cm cubes and boil until tender. Drain thoroughly and mash with 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp milk.
When mince is cooked through, add baked beans and sliced hot dog sausages and stir well. Add boiling water, and stir in gravy powder, stirring thoroughly. Transfer mince to ovenproof dish, cover mince with mashed potato then sprinkle cheese on top. Bake at 190 degrees C for 35 - 40 minutes until cheese is browned and mince is bubbling.
Serve in bowls with lots of brown sauce.
