Origin Pinot Grigio Organic

The nation's favourite tipple in an organic bundle. A great value wine,Β from Italy's ever popular Pinot Grigio grape. This wine is perfectly balanced with juicy pear and peach notes and soft floral aromas

Description

Succulent Diced steak in a spicy cheese sauce with red, yellow and green peppers, button mushrooms and onions, topped with grated chilli cheese.

Method

  1. 1

    1. Pre-heat oven to 200 Degrees Celsius. Whilst the oven is warming up, prepare the vegetables and store separately. Chop the whole onion to desired size, chop all 3 peppers into strips, and slice the button mushrooms.

    2. Place the peppers into a mixing bowl and add 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil. Mix well to coat the peppers thoroughly. Place on a baking tray along with the mushrooms and bake in the oven for approx. 20 minutes.

    3. Whilst the vegetables are baking, cook the pasta on full heat and heat a little sunflower oil in a frying pan. Once the oil is hot add the chopped onion. When the onions have browned, add the diced steak - make sure to cook thoroughly.

    4. After 20 minutes, (the veg baking time), everything should be cooked an ready, if the pasta needs longer then remove the veg from the oven and take the steak pan off the heat - everything will be put in the oven again in the next step so it doesn't matter if they start to go cold!

    5. Next, pour approx. 1 pint of boiling water into a measuring jug and add 4-5 spoonfuls of instant cheese sauce granules. (I prefer Morrisons brand as it works the same as Bisto Gravy and is very easy to do!) The cheese sauce needs to be fairly thick as runny sauce will not compliment this dish at all!

    6. Place the peppers, mushrooms, steak, onions and pasta into a larger mixing bowl and pour the sauce on top. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of Extra Hot Chilli Powder over the sauce and mix everything together really well. Make sure there is an even coating of sauce throughout.

    7. Put the whole lot into an ovenproof dish and lightly top with some pre-grated chilli flavoured cheese, (again Morrisons do a fantastic one!), and place in the oven for 20 mins until the cheese has melted. You can leave for longer if you prefer a crispier top, just keep an eye on it after the 20 min mark!

This is my favourite dish and if done right can taste like Frankie and Bennies 'Philly Cheese Steak Bake"! Or at least I think it does!

    Happy Eating!

Chef's Tips

Will add an image when I cook this again. The dish got demolished by household before I could take a photo!
