Description

This classic American sandwich brings together spicy minced beef with a delightful sweet and sour twist, making it a fun and satisfying alternative to your usual burger fare. With its rich flavors and hearty texture, each bite is a comforting reminder of home-cooked meals, perfect for any casual gathering or weeknight dinner. Serve it piled high on a bun with crisp lettuce and a slice of cheese for a truly mouthwatering experience.

Method

  1. 1

Heat oil in a large frying pan, add onion, pepper, celery & garlic. Fry gently for 5-10 mins until soft.

  2. 2

Add minced beef to pan. Cook until brown stirring well to make sure the mince is well broken up.

  3. 3

Add BBQ sauce, tomato puree, mustard, worcester sauce & sugar, mix together well & simmer for 15 mins until cooked & quite dry.

  4. 4

    Check seasoning & serve.

Assemble the sandwiches as you would a burger, a layer of shredded lettuce, then a good portion of the mince & a slice of cheese. Enjoy!

Chef's Tips
