This beautiful rose wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fruit driven, refreshing with abundance of berry flavours and a pleasant long finish.

Description

This deliciously bold take on the classic British Shepherd's Pie combines spicy minced lamb with a rich gravy, all topped with creamy mashed potatoes and a hint of cheese. It's a perfect comfort food to share with friends, bringing warmth and joy to your dining table.

Method

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 200ยฐC.

  2. 2

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

  3. 3

Add 500g of minced lamb, cooking until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

Stir in 1 chopped onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 diced carrot, and 1 diced celery stalk; cook for another 5 minutes until vegetables are soft.

  5. 5

Mix in 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, and salt and pepper to taste.

  6. 6

Pour in 200ml of beef broth and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, then let simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.

  7. 7

While the filling simmers, boil 800g of peeled and cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.

  8. 8

Drain the potatoes and mash them with 50g of butter and 100ml of milk until smooth and creamy.

  9. 9

In a greased baking dish, layer the spicy lamb mixture, followed by a generous layer of mashed potatoes on top.

  10. 10

Sprinkle 50g of grated cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes for added richness.

  11. 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbling.

  12. 12

Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
