Origin Pinot Grigio Organic

The nation's favourite tipple in an organic bundle. A great value wine,Β from Italy's ever popular Pinot Grigio grape. This wine is perfectly balanced with juicy pear and peach notes and soft floral aromas

Description

A quick & easy Chinese fish recipe, great on its' own
or as part of a Chinese banquet

Method

  1. 1

1 Lay fish fillets on a plate & sprinkle with salt.Set
aside for 20 mins (this draws out some of the moisture
    & firms up the fish)

2 Pat fish dry ,then cut into diagonal strips , about
    1.5" wide.

3 Heat oil in a wok or large frying pan , add the fish
& stir fry for 2-3 mins until it begins to turn
opaque (you may need to do this in 2 batches)

4 Remove fish from pan & drain on kitchen paper.

5 Return pan to heat & add shallots & ginger.Stir fry
for 1 min then add rest of the ingredients and bring
    to the boil.

6 Reduce heat to a simmer, return fish to pan , then cover
    & braise for 2-3 mins.

7 Serve with plain rice & a green vegetable (I like to
use Broccoli), using the braising liquid as a sauce.

Chef's Tips

This works best using a firm meaty fish such as cod, haddock
or pollack

We usually eat fish on a Tuesday so I think I'll give this a try as a main course and report back accordingly. Is the fish displayed haddock, incidentally?
