Finely chop 1 large onion, whisk 2 eggs and mix in with your mince.
Roll into balls with the palms of your hands and season with basil, oregano and mild chili powder to your liking.
Set into a preheated frying pan with a splash of virgin olive oil, crushed garlic and turn frequently until all the meat is sealed on the outside.
Take meatballs out of the pan and place into an oven-proof pot.
Add the passata to the frying pan and give it a bit of a stir so not to lose any flavours from the fat of the mince.
Pour the sauce over the meatballs, close the lid on the pot and place into a preheated over at 200 degrees for about 35mins.
Put your pasta on, adding salt when boiling and cracked pepper when serving.
Serve the meatballs on a bed of pasta with a large serving spoonful of sauce and a sprig of basil on top.
Garlic bread recommended as a side.
