Ingredients

- 500 grms Minced beef
- 1 baked beans
- 1 onion
- gravy granules
- 4 Potatoes large or whatever
- 1 tin sweetcorn
- Grated cheese
- 50grms Bacon
- Marmite to taste

The Baron de Ley winery was founded by a prestigious group of Rioja professionals in 1985. They were quite unique in their approach as they modelled the winery on a Medoc chateaux, which was a pioneering move at that time for producers in the Denominacion de Origen Calificada Rioja. This is so easy! I never weigh any of the ingredients and it is an add on dish add what you have left over in the stores for preference. It is the classic cottage pie with a twist

peel and cut potatoes into similar size bits and put on to boil - when boiling turn to a slow simmer.
Fry the bacon that I've roughly cut up, I use cheap bacon for peference also I like smoked but it is a personal choice. Add the onion that has been chopped into slices and fry until soft.
Into the pan add mince and brown off - keeping an eye on the bottom of the pan.
when mix looks cooked ie when brown - add tin of beans and sweetcorn - use gravy granules to thicken to taste, sometimes I add some marmite cos it makes it that bit richer!place in a roasting tin.
Mash the spuds using a little milk and spread them over the top of the mince mix. Cover with grated cheese and place in oven until the cheese is bubbling on top and serve with veggies of choice.
This dish is great for using up all the odds and sods that lurk in the freezer - my kids call it mums speciality and I have made it for 30 people on a camping trip.
I must confess that I never weight the ingredients it is a matter of choice and who I am feeding!
