Description

A very creamy, toffee flavoured desert enjoyed by most children of all ages, grown ups probably remember this pie from school dinner days!

Method

  1. 1

    1. Using a pre-cooked sweet pastry tart base,switch on over to 350deg.

    2. In large mixing bowl add a half pint of chilled evaporated milk,(best if left in fridge night before)

    3. Add 4oz dark brown soft sugar to the milk and whisk together until really thick,(best to use electric whisk as it can take about 8-10 mins to get to the thick consistency that you need.) You will notice the colour change to a very light creamy colour.

    4. This is then ready to pour into your pre-cooked pastry base, smooth the to and put in pre-heated oven for aprox 15- 20 mins till it sets firm but not too brown in colour.
Best to watch it at this stage as all ovens vary!

    5. Nice served alone or with scoop of ice cream, or the rest of the tin of evaporated milk. Delicious but rather fattening!
