Origin Pinot Grigio Organic

The nation's favourite tipple in an organic bundle. A great value wine,Β from Italy's ever popular Pinot Grigio grape. This wine is perfectly balanced with juicy pear and peach notes and soft floral aromas

Description

Sweet treat on Christmas Eve.

Method

  1. 1

First, mix milk, half a teaspoon of vanilla, cinnamon and cloves in a heavy based saucepan. Now heat gently over the lowest setting for 5 minutes. Allow the milk to come to the boil slowly.

1.Using quite a large bowl, combine sugar and egg yolks together and whisk them up until you get a fluffy mixture.

    2. Now whisk the hot milk mixture slowly into the eggs.

3.Pour the resulting mixture into saucepan.

    4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes and until thick.

4.Strain the mixture through a sieve to remove cloves and allow the mixture to cool for about an hour or so.

5.Now stir in rum, cream, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and nutmeg.

6.Place the eggnog in the fridge and allow it to cool for 6 to 8 hours ore overnight.

Chef's Tips

It is important NOT to allow the mixture to boil at step 4 or you will burn it and it will spoil.

The cream is actually the mixture prepared in steps 1-2-3 and 4.

Does this work if you use actual cups and keep the ratio the same? What's a cup in metric/imperial?

Thanks, Nikki xXx

Hi! This recipe for Egg Nog sounds very tasty and I would love to give it a go, however, it does not seem to state how much cream you should use - Please could you add this detail so I can give it a go! - Thanks!!
