Muscat Beaumes de Venise Sweet Wine

Beaumes is famed for its wine made from the Muscat grape. Rich, sweet and luscious with a touch of white flower on the finish. A delicious and subtle dessert wine. Buy this wine if you like: Sweet dessert wines that are lighter in style.

Description

Strictly for lovers of dark chocolate and Irish cream liqueur. Very yummy and addictive. You've been warned!

Method

  1. 1

Prepare a baking pan (15cmx20cm rectangle, approx.) by lining it with baking parchment or aluminium foil.
Mix the first four ingredients and melt in a microwave oven on low (stirring in betwen) or in a smaller saucepan over a simmering pan of water on the stove. Stir until smooth.
Pour evenly into the prepared pan. Set aside to cool and set (put it outside if the weather is cool).
Melt the next three ingredients. Pour it over the first layer and stud with your favourite toasted nuts or dried fruit. Leave to cool and set (fridge is fine once the fudge is no longer warm).
Cut with a sharp, buttered knife into squares.

Chef's Tips

Add more powdered sugar (even to the top layer) if you have a sweet tooth.
